Organizing Bootcamp

Adjunct Action stands for contingent faculty empowerment, which comes from organizing collectively. Our organizers can’t be everywhere on the ground we want to be, but we want to help you get started. In September we held an online conference on organizing; watch the videos below.

Organizing 101: Veteran Adjunct Action organizers Sarah Glick and Sean Barrett help you talk to your colleagues and encourage them to come together.

Your Legal Rights & Protections When Organizing: Saerom Park, an attorney advising the Adjunct Action campaigns, provides an overview of the National Labor Relations Act protections for adjuncts who are organizing.

Where We’ve Come From and Where We’re Going: SEIU now represents more than 22,000 academics. Anne McLeer, a former adjunct and the director of research at SEIU Local 500, which has organized more than 80% of adjunct faculty in the DC metro area, gave a history of the movement and discussed where it is going.
